About Our School
Hampton Primary has a strong tradition of active community participation and has been at the forefront of curriculum development in the local area since its opening in 1913. We educate our students to be enthusiastic, curious learners who are valued for their individuality and diversity. We encourage engagement, self-responsibility and independence and promote the development of the whole child through strong curriculum programs and a variety of co-curriculum opportunities.
Our School values include integrity, trust, respect, acceptance, optimism, team work, lifelong learning, commitment and friendliness and these values are celebrated and reflected in all of our learning programs.
Hampton Primary was opened 100 years ago this year and I encourage you to join with us in celebrating our values and achievements. Hampton Primary has been, and will continue to be, a wonderful school full of capable, enthusiastic and caring people.
I am extremely proud to be the principal of a school that has a long history of providing State education and which is so strongly supported by the local community, resulting in the current population of approximately 700 students. More info »
Hampton is fortunate to have an eclectic and talented staff team. We have a broad range of experience from those in the first year of teaching to others that have taught for in excess of 30 years. Furthermore we have staff with extensive experience in specialist areas including music, physical education, visual arts and sport. What is common across the team is a clear commitment to doing the best they can for the students at Hampton and this means addressing the social, emotional and academic needs of the individual.
We currently have 35 classroom teachers, 6 specialists and 20 Education Support Staff, including some who work part time. Staff members work in teams where the collegiate support, sharing of the workload and investigating and learning about educational research and best practice results in high quality teaching and learning. Our aim is to create a stimulating, positive and caring learning environment where the children are eager to come to school. Staff photo gallery »
