Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, 2015
This year our Year 5/6s are attending camp at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort for 5 days from 25 May to the 29 May. This particular camp site is huge, particularly well positioned and relatively new; it offers a range of activities that take advantage of the coastal location as well as some of the typical problem solving and physically adventurous options.
The activities will include:
- An exploration of Rhyll Inlet with park rangers
- Bushwalking at the Oswin Roberts Reserve with park rangers
- Boat cruise to Seal Rock
- A visit to the Nobbies
- Initiative Course
- Giant Swing
- Twin Flying Fox
- Science discussions on marine debris and pollution at Smiths beach with rangers
- Workshops on koala research and management, southern seas, little penguins’ research and data mapping.
The staffing for the camp will comprise parents, classroom teachers and some specialists; this will be finalised shortly. The camp is usually a significant highlight for many children in the senior school. If any parents have any queries regarding the camp, please contact our camp coordinator Sharon Dowling.
